Introducing Permabond ET5164: FDA & EU Food Contact Compliant Adhesive

Introducing Permabond ET5164

Permabond ET5164 is a 1:1, two-part epoxy adhesive which is FDA and EU food contact compliant.

GlueOnline is excited to announce the launch of Permabond ET5164, a two-part epoxy adhesive which is FDA and EU food contact compliant. Specifically designed to be compliant with FDA 175.300 as well as EU 10/2011 regulations for food contact, ET5194 is ideal for bonding components of industrial equipment, machines, and utensils where contact is made with food and drink.

Lightly thixotropic, this product has ideal flow control, neither too thin or too thick, for full penetration into and coverage of mesh, while ensuring no mess from overflow. White in colour; ET5164 has a long life/open time at room temperature allowing for modifications as needed before reaching working strength within 8 hours and full cure in roughly 24 hours. This process however be easily sped up (working strength in 20 mins, full cure in 1 hour at 60°c) by applying heat via either oven curing; induction or infrared heating over the assembly line.

With great resistance to water and chemicals Permabond ET5164 is suitable for a range of industry applications and won't degrade in the presence of cleanng chemcials - a big factor for the food industry! Not only is it ideal for bonding stainless steel, but is also able to bond other substrates, including aluminium, ceramic material, and some plastics.

Some of the key industry applications for Permabond ET5164 include food mixers, drinks machines, kitchen equipment, tanks and vats, bonding mesh to sieves, and more.
