Introducing, Permabond LH055, a new PFAS free thread sealant which is WRAS approved and suitable for use on both parallel and tapered threads.

What are PFAS?

Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances of PFAS are a group of manmade chemicals which enhance the performance and durability of adhesives PFAS are used across manufacturing and industry due to properties such as being non-stick and resistant to heat, chemicals, and moisture.

However, they are also called forever chemicals due to their persistence in the environment and are coming under more scrutiny due to potentially harmful effects to human health.

Introducing Permabond LH055

Permabond LH055 is a PFAS free anaerobic adhesive for thread sealing applications. LH055 cures in the absence of air to form a durable seal with good chemical resistance and is suitable for bonding a range of metals including brass and stainless steel.

This sealant has a relatively low breakaway torque (8 Nm/70 in.lb on zinc) making it ideal for parts requiring disassembly or future maintenance. While LH055 secures threaded fittings without causing them to seize, if disassembly is required, only normal tools are needed.

LH055 is suitable for plumbing systems, cooling circuits, pumps, valves, and other threaded metal pipe connections.
